      Application of Hyperspectral Cameras in Color Difference Detection: Test Report on Component Color Variation

      1. Sample Introduction

      The samples tested in this study are the plastic components on electronic parts.


      2. Test Objective

      To detect the color variation of the plastic components across individual electronic parts.

      3. Test Equipment & Methodology

      • Measurement Device: Hyperspectral color measurement equipment was used for the test.

      • Spectral Range: The hyperspectral camera covers a wavelength range of 400–1000 nm.

      • Imaging Scheme: A linear push-broom imaging method was adopted.

      • Illumination Source: A strip halogen light source was used.

      • Equipment Structure: The device features a darkroom design, with samples placed on the stage inside the darkroom.

      • Lab Calculation Parameters: A 2° viewing angle and D65 light source parameters were applied for Lab color space calculation.

      • Sample Positioning: Samples were placed on a horizontal translation stage and moved at a constant speed during testing.

      Lab Values

      Test Result: OK: Indicates that the calculated ΔE (color difference) of the current selected area is less than 0.5.

      Test Result: NG: Indicates that the calculated ΔE (color difference) of the current selected area is greater than 0.5.

      0–1: Color difference is almost imperceptible to the human eye.

      1–2: Only trained personnel can detect subtle differences.

      2–3: Even untrained personnel can perceive slight color differences.

      3–6: Obvious color differences are visible.

      6–12: Intense color differences are present.

      >12: The colors are completely different.
